Welcome to the Amazing Afternoons Website...a place designed to help busy parents and caregivers find wonderful ideas and fun activities to do with their young children.

 

     With today's busy lifestyles, household duties, and bustling young families, actual time to do activities with pre-schoolers can be hard to find-and time to plan any special activities is nearly impossible. But that doesn't mean it can't happen!  We are here to help with "Amazing Afternoon Worksheets". 

 

      Amazing Afternoon Worksheets provide a complete "afternoon" of special activities (designed around a favorite children's book or bible story)- leaving parents time to focus in on spending quality time with their children.

What is a Amazing Afternoon Worksheet?
After you sign-up each week an "Amazing Afternoon Worksheet" will be sent to you via e-mail. Two different Amazing Afternoons Worksheets are available:
 (1) Amazing Afternoons~Amazing Preschool Book Worksheets  or
(2) Amazing Afternoons~Amazing Bible Stories Worksheet.
The Amazing Afternoons~Amazing Preschool Book Worksheet is FULL of easy ideas and activities based around a favorite picture book. After gathering the book and minimal supplies ahead of time, you will be ready to spend a wonderful and meaningful hour or two with your pre-school aged child.  
The Amazing Afternoons~Amazing Bible Story Worksheet is FULL of easy ideas and activities based around a bible story. After collecting the minimal supplies you will be ready to spend a few fantastic hours with your preschool child-reading the bible story from the NIV version on the worksheet (or from your child's bible) and then doing some terrific activities from the worksheet.  
 
Each worksheet includes an introduction to an excellent book and author or information on the bible story, craft idea, creative snack, a hand-on science project, fun math, games, questions to chat about, and places to find even more resources.

Each Worksheet Activity is filtered through the following values and questions:

 
Relational:

Does this activity include a time for relationship building? The foundation for building a good relationship with your children requires that you spend time with them - spending time really getting to know who they are.

 

Fun:

If the activities are not fun-who is going to want to do them?
 

Educational: Why not sneak some of this in as well? Children at this age are learning constantly about their world and the people around them.

 
Age-Appropriate: Why ask a child to do something that they don't understand or are unable to do? Each carefully selected activity is designed to be meaningful to a child where they are at-socially, emotionally, physically, and spiritually.
